Judge Joe Brown- Cheap wedding photographer

Recently I saw this YouTube video. It is funny (apologies to the bride & groom who do not share my sentiments).
I have a few comments (of course):
Mal-Wart (intentionally misspelled) may have quality processing, but I would not be caught dead printing my photographs with them. My reputation is attached to each & every photograph. It [...]

Benefits of shooting digital & film for Raleigh, NC weddings

Most photographers do not own film cameras anymore. Some photographers have never shot with film. These photographers, and their clients, are missing out on the unique and stylized look that film, especially archival B&W, offers.
My company is unique in offering both digital & film coverage for Raleigh-Durham wedding photographs.
Film is distinct from digital in [...]

Baby portrait session- Raleigh, NC newborn portrait photography.

Finished processing the images of Sebastian and Susannah’s new daughter- Juliana. A few samples are provided

We shot the session inside their house. I prefer to work on location instead of a stuffy studio. Admittedly, it takes a little longer to set up, but it is less stress on (sleep-deprived) new parents.

Juliana loved my lighting [...]

Travel photography website- revamp

I lost count of how many countries I visited over the years. My travels were fantastic experiences and I look forward to continuing the adventures when my son is older. Old enough, at least to say “Dad, I think the whatever (insert name of foreign & exotic food) did not agree with me.”
The majority of [...]

Raleigh newborn photography

This afternoon I photographed the newest addition to Drew and Casey’s family- their six day old daughter Talia.

Newborns usually respond well to hot-lights. Talia was no exception. She was very comfortable with the heat radiating from the light.

Luckily, she opened her eyes on several occasions!

And her mouth too. She spend the last portion of the [...]

Worst day ever!

….or a bit of an over reaction. Nonetheless, it was still an odd day by anyone’s standards.
Santa brought my son a bicycle (with training wheels).
“Ride like Daddy?” he asked. When the temperature was warm enough, we headed out for his first bike ride. Rocco was engrossed in the peddling and spent the majority of the [...]

Unique Raleigh wedding photography

Congratulations to my most recently married couple- Brian & Kelley.

There are not many wedding photographers who offer film, but I find that by combining digital images with traditional B&W, I can achieve a look unparalleled by other photography studios.
The image above was shot with traditional B&W film. My favorite B&W film it Kodak TMAX film. [...]

JoAnna & Toby engagement photographs

Last Sunday I had the opportunity to spend a little time at the Duke Gardens with JoAnna and Toby. We had a great time and I enjoyed working with this fun couple.
This has been a weird fall. I expected the colors to be at their height this week, and after checking several fall foliage calendars [...]

Engagement photographs at the Duke Gardens

This weekend I had the opportunity to photograph Melissa and Matthew at the Duke Gardens, my favorite place to photograph in the Raleigh-Durham area.

The portrait above is digital infrared. I love this camera and the “glow” it produces in foliage and skintones.

If you meter off of the sun, you underexpose the foreground by 4-5 stops, [...]
