Maternity session- Raleigh Rose Garden
Last week I met a great couple, Marcus & Kena, at the Raleigh Rose Garden for a quick maternity shoot.
A free lens photograph of Kena’s belly. Free lensing is a technique where you put the camera on Manual, set the focus on infinity and remove the lens from the camera body. By moving the lens, you achieve a tilt-shift effect you cannot create in Photoshop.
Marcus is a US Marine who was being sent back to Iraq two days later
. Unfortunately, he will be gone for the birth of his son. I wish him the best of luck.
Kena was a trooper. We scheduled the session for 9am-early for most people. However, I have found that pregnancy, heat, and the brain do not work well together (ask my wife about the 14 mile bike ride I took her on the day before she realized she was pregnant. I am lucky to have survived).
Kena needed to sit down at the end of the shoot, but kept her sense of humor.
The photographs at the Raleigh Rose Garden are a mixture of digital and digital infrared.
Thanks Marcus and Kena.
Sincerely,
Ryan
