Creative wedding photography in Raleigh, NC
Some late night ramblings…..
As I evolve as an artist, I am continually looking for creative angles and unique wedding photographs to shoot. Examples are listed below:
Lomography supersamplers. A magical film camera that shoots four exposures over 2 seconds on one 35mm negative.
Cross-processed film. I shoot slide film in a camera, but have it developed in the wrong chemicals. This creates a high contrast image with crazy colors.
Horizon Perfekts. A wonderful Russian panorama camera that wildly distorts perspective. The photographs can be shot at high speeds, or you can do a 2 second exposure and intentionally move the cameras while the lense spins!
So you can take a picture of the bride’s face from two angles. On one piece of film!
Holgas. A medium format camera that can be used to create what I affectionately call “weddingramas”. By underadvancing the film, I intentionally overlap the images to create a “story” of the days events. The images can show a bride and groom look at each other, with the couple in the center of the photograph, or can be a capture of the fleeting events of the entire day on an entire roll of film!
Holgas can also be used to shoot full frame 35mm photographs.
Infrared. Infrared wedding photographs are breathtaking. Infrared photography works on a different wavelength than the eye can see. Anything that is alive “glows” in the photograph. The dark red of roses appear white. Skin gives off an amazing glow.

High speed B&W. This film is super contrasty. And grainy. And it looks totally different than anything else.
How about in-camera effects, such as motion blur?

And I did not even get the chance to discuss angles for photographs! Or macro vs. micro shots! Or digital effects. Or double exposures. Or multiple flash output neither….
